Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine!
Title: Carnival of Souls(Click for Goodreads)
Author: Melissa Marr
ETA: September 4th, 2012
Summary from Goodreads: In a city of daimons, rigid class lines separate the powerful from the power-hungry. And at the heart of The City is the Carnival of Souls, where both murder and pleasure are offered up for sale. Once in a generation, the carnival hosts a deadly competition that allows every daimon a chance to join the ruling elite. Without the competition, Aya and Kaleb would both face bleak futures–if for different reasons. For each of them, fighting to the death is the only way to try to live.
All Mallory knows of The City is that her father–and every other witch there–fled it for a life in exile in the human world. Instead of a typical teenage life full of friends and maybe even a little romance, Mallory scans quiet streets for threats, hides herself away, and trains to be lethal. She knows it’s only a matter of time until a daimon finds her and her father, so she readies herself for the inevitable. While Mallory possesses little knowledge of The City, every inhabitant of The City knows of her. There are plans for Mallory, and soon she, too, will be drawn into the decadence and danger that is the Carnival of Souls.
From Melissa Marr, bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely series and “Graveminder,” comes a brand-new tale of lush secrets, dark love, and the struggle to forge one’s own destiny.
Why I’m Waiting: I’m curious, did you read the blurb? Because than this question because obselete. READ THAT. SEE THE COVER. I’ve been hearing so much hype about this one, and I CANNOT wait to see what Marr does with this ridiculously unique idea.

I am dying to read this one, I think that I am going to get the audio book because I found out that James Marsters, who I don’t know if you know is one of my favorite actors and played Spike on the T.V. shows Angel and Buffy The Vampire Slayer and he is narrating it and I had a little fangirl attack when I found out and knew I had to have it lol. But anyways enough ranting. Great pick!

Hey, Gretchen. Ever since Alpha I’ve been keeping up with your blog, although I’ve read about none of the books yet. NEED TO GET ON THAT!
Anyway, the reason I’m commenting is because SHE HAS MY NAME! I to excitedly make this known to everyone. Not many fictional (or real-life, for that matter) share my name, so I get overly enthusiastic when it happens. Anyway, it looks good. I’ll definitely read it when it comes out. (And yes, the cover’s awesome)

Hahaha, I didn’t even realize! That’s great!

I really liked this book. Didn’t quite border a five book rating from me, but definitely give it a shot because I think it has soooo much promise inside.
