Betwixt the Books Reviews: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

LOOK AT HOW CRAZY THIS IS: Michaela and I are actually TOGETHER for this review, talking about the graphic novel Nimona. This has been in the works for a while, and it’s the cutest thing ever worth waiting for. We tried out recording ourselves via skype for this one, mostly because Michaela forgot her camera, and it had some hilarious results. Perfect for this book in cuteness level, really!

#imbibliomancy: Drunk Book Club with “Death Vigil” by Stjepan Sejic

Well, here it is. (Okay, this happened Sunday night but here the post is anyways.) Our last Imbibliomancy episode of college ever. Trust me, we’re going out with a bang. It’s Taylor’s pick, and it’s a graphic novel and … it might be the first time I get actually pissed on air since the Emily Carroll episode. It’s also REALLY good, and there’s a lot of good conversation and argument while trying to figure out how the hell you review a serial comic versus a graphic novel and a whole bunch of other stuff. Here we go!

If you missed this semester’s other two episodes:

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

Bibliomancy for Beginners Season 3: Through the Woods by Emily Carroll

Welcome to another episode of the regular season of Bibliomancy for Beginners! Tonight we’re discussing one of Taylor’s picks (ew): a graphic horror novel called Through the Woods by Emily Carroll!

THAT’S RIGHT, THE FIRST GRAPHIC NOVEL WE’VE EVER DONE.

It promises to be FANTASTIC. One, because it’s Taylor’s pick which means I make it my mission to trash him. Two, because the fabulous Casey from The Drunk Librarian (and also our Nostalgia Junkie: Pendragon series and our 13 Days of Misfortune series) will be joining us!

Make sure you join us too!
