Bibliomancy for Beginners Season 3: “Skin Trade” by Anita Blake

Here it is, guys. The final episode of the regular season of Bibliomancy for Beginners.

I’m crying for two reasons. One, this is the FINAL EPISODE. Two, I’M NOT IN THIS EPISODE. I couldn’t make it because I’ve been in job training for all the time ever and couldn’t even make it to the meeting, let alone read the book. However, for once in their lives, Michaela and Taylor aren’t on the same page with their reactions to the book and that makes this VERY entertaining.

Just a quick note before you watch: Miss my face? Miss Michaela’s? Catch up on our special ten part Nostalgia Junkie series, which is STILL GOING. I just posted the sixth installment yesterday. CHECK IT OUT.

Anyways. Here we go!

Bibliomancy for Beginners Season 3: Angelfall by Susan Ee

I don’t know if you saw my blow up after our last regularly scheduled hangout, but you can catch up with that here if you want. Anyways, this week we’re going my pick: Angelfall by Susan Ee.

I may scream again this episode. HOWEVER, thankfully we have TWO guest Bibliomancers this episode (even if one is just remote) who are in my corner on this one. I guess you’ll just have to watch and see if Taylor manages to set me off. Again. Here we go!

Bibliomancy for Beginners Season 3: Through the Woods by Emily Carroll

Welcome to another episode of the regular season of Bibliomancy for Beginners! Tonight we’re discussing one of Taylor’s picks (ew): a graphic horror novel called Through the Woods by Emily Carroll!

It promises to be FANTASTIC. One, because it’s Taylor’s pick which means I make it my mission to trash him. Two, because the fabulous Casey from The Drunk Librarian (and also our Nostalgia Junkie: Pendragon series and our 13 Days of Misfortune series) will be joining us!

Make sure you join us too!

Bibliomancy for Beginners Season 3: Collected Fictions by Jorge Luis Borges

Hey there guys!

This is a posting that is a little bit late, but I wasn’t there for this episode for reasons they explain in the video and I’ll explain in a post later. HOWEVER, just because I’m not there doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth watching! (Or you can watch it and tell me how much you missed me because I make the show for you. That’s cool too.)

Anyways. Check it out! I guess Michaela and Taylor can be okay sometimes.

Bibliomancy Begins Season 3! 2AM in the Cat’s Pajamas by Marie-Helene Bertino

I am the worst. Why? I apparently never got this post up when we actually DID this episode last week. Like you, I guess the fact that we were starting SEASON THREE of Bibliomancy for Beginners snuck up on me.

What is Bibliomancy for Beginners, you ask? Well, if you’re new around here, it’s the book club I run with two of my college friends. This season we’re doing a lot of fun, new stuff that front-runner Michaela has lovingly detailed in this here blog post, but I would like to quote her on one of the most exciting things:

“The next change is that we will be following a theme this summer.  The internet has blown up with the need for #diversebooks and we want to promote that as well.  We hope to read books that will cover a variety of genres, languages, genders, sexualities, and ethnicities.  We all benefit from more and varied stories so let’s show our support for the authors who break the parade of dead white men!”

Are you excited? Be excited. In the bottom of this post is the video for our first episode, 2AM in the Cat’s Pajamas by Marie-Helene Bertino. Don’t forget to tune in with us on June 23rd for MY PICK, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir! For more info:
